Our Story
The history of MR. B's in Bunker Hill — located at 990 DeCamp Rd — is a classic piece of Ingham County lore. For decades it served as the heartbeat of the unincorporated community of Bunker Hill Center, the "civilized" outpost in an otherwise rural landscape of farms and marshes.
Bunker Hill Township was established in 1839, primarily by Irish settlers. By the mid-to-late 1800s, "Bunker Hill Center" had evolved into a small village with a blacksmith, a church, and a general store. While many neighboring buildings eventually vanished, the general store remained one of the few standing monuments to the town's pioneer roots.
The Mr. B Era: It operated as a traditional general store — part grocery, part hardware, and part social hub. In a town with no stoplights and a population under 2,000, Mr. B's was the primary landmark for giving directions. The kind of place where the symphony of local gossip played out daily.
Today: Now Bunker Bites carries that spirit forward — same legendary corner, new righteous food. Est. 2026.
